Bridges

Just as the name implies, a bridge spans the gap between a patient’s natural teeth and a tooth that is missing.

To create a bridge, the dentist prepares teeth on either side of the gap for crowns and takes an impression of that site. A“bridge” is created—with an artificial tooth centered between the two crowns. The bridge is then cemented onto the prepared teeth.

The Benefits: In addition to the obvious esthetic benefits, individuals with bridges can chew better and possibly defray future dental and jaw problems.
